Many reviews called this one of Abhishek’s best performances post ‘Guru’, while Saiyami also received accolades from many cricketers as well.
Abhishek Bachchan and Saiyami Kher starrer ‘Ghoomer’ had released on August 18 in theatres. The film got rave reviews from all over unanimously. ‘Ghoomer’ revolves around Saiyami Kher’s character Anina who loses her right arm just a day before she’s going to play the World Cup for the Indian Cricket team. She’s a batsman but later meets coach Paddy sir (played by Abhishek) who trains her to become a left-arm spinner.
Many reviews called this one of Abhishek’s best performances post ‘Guru’ while Saiyami received accolades from many cricketers as well.
However, despite the good reviews, ‘Ghoomer’ managed to bring in numbers at the box office as it was facing competition from ‘Gadar 2’ and ‘OMG 2’. But the OTT release date of the movie has been announced now. ‘Ghoomer’ is set to release on Zee5 on November 10.
The film directed by R Balki also stars Shabana Azmi, Angad Bedi. Legendary cricketer Bishan Singh Bedi who recently passed away, had a cameo in the film and was loved by people who saw the film. Amitabh Bachchan also has a cameo in the movie.
Meanwhile, at the moment, Abhishek is out of the country, as he’s shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s next reportedly. The actor was set to begin the film by the end of August after the release of ‘Ghoomer’. Meanwhile, he’s wrapped up Remo D’souza’s next which sees him alongside Nora Fatehi.
Abhishek will also be seen in ‘SSS7’ which is the Hindi remake of Tamil film ‘Oththa Seruppu Size 7’. He had spoken about it in exclusive chat with ETimes and said, “We produced a film called ‘SSS7’ which I did more as a personal excercise because I thought it would be very challenging to be the only actor in the frame. That kind of thing hasn’t been done in Hindi for over 40-50 years. I think Dutt Sahab did it in the 50s or 60s. I can’t remember the exact date. I had a month off, I went to Chennail and we shot that film. We’re in the last leg of the post-production and after that we’ll slate it for release.”
