Cheeni Kum (Less Sugar) is a romantic comedy featuring a not so sweet 64 year old man and a supremely confident woman, 30 years younger. Buddha (Amitabh Bachchan) is an arrogant chef of one of London’s top Indian restaurants and Neena (Tabu), a charming confident woman visiting London. A chance encounter at the restaurant leaves Neena stunned by the chef’s scathing attack on her opinion of his cuisine. When Neena avenges the insult in her own inimitable way, a relationship begins. Laced with wit and sarcasm without much mush in the romance, their tale has an unexpected roadblock when they contemplate marriage. Neena’s dad is 5 years younger than Buddha. What follows is a hilarious struggle of acceptance.
